Within the span of 5 years, the share of digital media increased from less than 10 % in 2012 to more than 30% in 2017. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The e-commerce phase in MENA started when in March 2017 Amazon announced the acquisition of <a href=\"https:\/\/deals.souq.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/deals.souq.com\/\">Souq<\/a> which is the leading MENA e-commerce company for USD 580 million.
